Challenge 1: Limited Space and Outdated Layout

The original kitchen had an outdated layout, with many dead corners and inefficient use of natural light. This made the space feel cramped and disconnected from other areas of the home.

SBuddy’s Solution: SBuddy’s team of architects and skilled craftsmen proposed removing a non-load-bearing wall to create an open-concept space, connecting the kitchen with the dining area. We also redesigned the kitchen layout into an L-shape, integrating a compact yet versatile island that serves as both a food preparation area and a convenient bar.

Challenge 2: Demand for Sustainable and Low-Maintenance Materials

The client expressed a desire for environmentally friendly materials that were easy to clean and highly durable to ensure the longevity of the new kitchen.

SBuddy’s Solution: We advised and used quartz countertops – a material renowned for its durability, scratch resistance, and ease of cleaning. The cabinets were made from high-grade engineered wood with a moisture-resistant, termite-proof melamine surface, and are recyclable. The floor was laid with wood-look porcelain tiles, which offer natural beauty, slip resistance, and high wear resistance.

Challenge 3: Optimizing Light and Airflow

Natural light is crucial for creating an airy kitchen space. The old kitchen was poorly lit and had inadequate ventilation.

SBuddy’s Solution: In addition to expanding the space, we installed a large window overlooking the garden, maximizing natural daylight. Scientifically arranged recessed LED lights and decorative pendant lights over the island ensure ample illumination for all activities. A high-capacity range hood system was also integrated to keep the kitchen air fresh and clean.
